I just can't believe it!
An undercover video, filmed and publicized by the Chicago-based animal rights group Mercy for Animals shines the spotlight on an industry practice that is beyond horrific. The video (below), which is not for the faint of heart, shows hundreds of unwanted male chicks being ground up ALIVE at an Iowa hatchery owned by Hy-Line North America, the nation's leading egg producer.
Even more I can't believe is it's so-called industry standard! To kill male chicks because they can't produce eggs and they can't be grown fast :( Every year, 200 millions male chicks are killed in US only. If it's industry standard, then how many are killed globally?
